This October 18, 2021 letter from Nathanson, Schachter & Thompson LLP—authored by Julia K. Lockhart—contains one of the earliest explicit written admissions by the Law Society of British Columbia that a RAM capture was taken from Kevin McLean’s computer in June 2014. The letter states that LSBC counsel “continues to expect to be in a position to provide a copy of the RAM capture in the last week of October,” confirming both the existence and retention of the RAM dump for seven years.
The correspondence also demands a physical mailing address for delivery of the USB containing the RAM capture, and directs that any further FOI requests be submitted by physical mail. This document is foundational evidence demonstrating that LSBC possessed, controlled, and prepared to disclose the RAM capture—despite its non‑disclosure to the BCSC in 2015.
